NEW APP, ‘SINGAPP: PARKINSON’S’ LAUNCHES IN THE UK TODAY

Patients living with Parkinson’s in the UK will, from this summer, be able to download a new app to help them practice simple singing exercises as part of their fight against the progression of the condition.

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition which affects around 150,000 people in the UK and can strike adults of any age. Currently, worldwide over 10 million people have been diagnosed with Parkinson's and this number is expected to double by 2050.

The new app, the first of its kind in this field, ‘SINGAPP: PARKINSON’S’ is available for both Apple and Android smart phones and tablet has been developed by Nicola Wydenbach, a leading practitioner in the field of Parkinson’s singing therapy in the UK. It is funded by the Arts Council, Sing to Beat, Britten Pears Arts, and private donations and supported by Trinity Laban.
